
Introduction
B610-4E is a GPON/EPON optical modem produced by Huawei. This article introduces how to configure the B610-4E optical modem, including default passwords, ONT authentication, WAN configuration, and other key steps. After configuration, you can achieve bridged or routed mode internet access.
Default Password
The default login password for the B610-4E optical modem is usually:
- telecomadmin
- admintelecom
It is recommended to change the password immediately after the first login to enhance security.
Configuration Steps
Configuration mainly involves two parts: ONT authentication and WAN configuration.
1. ONT Authentication
Enter Advanced Configuration -> System Management -> ONT Authentication:
- Authentication Method: Select LOID
- LOID: Obtain from the broadband installer, Ningbo Unicom’s LOID format is similar to XXXXXXXXXXXXX24123456789 (one line, no password)
2. WAN Configuration
Enter Advanced Configuration -> WAN Configuration:

Bridged WAN Mode:
- Mainly set VLAN ID (check from the old optical modem)

Routed WAN Mode:
- Set VLAN ID
- Configure PPPoE dial-up account and password
- NAT type is recommended to be set to Full Cone NAT
Debugging and Verification
- Perform diagnostic tests on the “System Diagnosis” page
- View connection status, IP address, etc. on the “System Information” page
